Local

Local holidays are mostly celebrated in order to honor specific Saints closely connected to the area and the dates stated below indicate the "peak" date of the festivities, the proper calendar date for that Saint. The festivities, the "Feria", are mostly spread out over several days, maybe as much as a whole week. During this time several activities such as public performances, parades and fireworks take place. Opening times of shops are often severely affected, some of them close completely while others run on a limited schedule.
